Jeb is the President of Fortis and one of its co-founders.

He was part of the 4th generation in his family to work in their automotive parts distribution business, a business started in downtown Fort Worth by his great-grandfather, R.R. Cogdell, in 1921. He understands the entrepreneurial spirit of business owners, a spirit that is manifested in humble beginnings, hard work, reliable products, and a neighborly care of customers.

Jeb also served 8 years working in the oil & gas industry throughout Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, and Brazil. As a Business Development Manager and Vice President of Operations, he was part of a team that represented global companies wanting to conduct business in the Exploration & Production markets of Mexico and Latin America.

Graduating in 1990 from The University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Economics, Jeb maintains native fluency in Spanish and functional proficiency in Portuguese. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Federation of Americans for Consumer Choice (FACC), helping to promote a level playing field for independent insurance professionals by advocating and influencing practices, regulations, and legislation that foster consumer choice. Jeb has served on the Tournament Committee for the PGA Tour’s “Charles Schwab Challenge” held at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. He has also served in various capacities with the YMCA of Greater Houston, the Recovery Resource Council, and the Grace Bridge ministry.

In his spare time, Jeb enjoys hunting, fishing, and cooking. Outside of deer and quail season, he can sometimes be found fishing the shallow waters of the Laguna Madre or camping and fishing the surf along the beaches of Padre Island National Seashore.
